The Pleiades - The Pleiades is a young (as evident from it's blue color) star cluster in the constellation of Taurus and is one of the most famous and most visible open clusters in the sky. The brightest stars in the cluster are named after the seven sisters in Greek mythology. As is obvious in this photo, the Pleiades includes many more than than seven stars. In fact, there are around 400. Still, the seven main stars are the most easily visible to the naked eye from moderately dark sites. The Pleiades also includes some faint reflective nebulosity, some of which is just visible in this picture.
