Meteor - Meteors, commonly known as "shooting stars", are pieces of space debris that fall to Earth, making a quick streak of light as they burn up in Earth's atmosphere. This particular meteor was captured during the Lyrids meteor shower on April 21-22, 2012. The nearly parallel lines are star trails, whereas the meteor is the single long streak cutting across the other lines. Even during a shower, you can never be certain exactly when and where a meteor will appear.
